There are obviously far more important implications, but on a totally shallow note, that first one is so beautiful…and it makes the other one look like crap. It’s almost like they got pissed and were like, here’s another one but she’s ugly and mean lookin’ because fuck you.

This is not fitness related, but is so FALSE that it made me upset enough to hopefully stop it from spreading. The statue, the meaning, the design, the patent for the design, all from start to finish are very well documented. Words on a picture don’t make something true.
And although the gift was after the civil war, it had nothing to do with slavery. There is no mention of slavery during the concept or design. It was for our independence. That was the stated purpose and that’s what the symbolism shows. The symbolism of the statue of liberty was very well thought out and well documented.
This is why this story isn’t in history books, because it is not actually history!
